The Klon Centaur is an overdrive pedal introduced in 1994. It was designed to emulate high-volume amplifier distortion while preserving tone. Its circuit uses a JFET-based TL072 op amp and hard-clipping 1N34A diodes. After internal voltage doubling, the signal splits into three paths. It adds slight midrange emphasis. It was built as a standalone pedal in a custom-cast enclosure.
