Final Scratch was the first widely adopted vinyl emulation system. It required timecoded records, a ScratchAmp interface, and dedicated software. It gave DJs precise, tactile control over digital audio — but introduced latency, calibration drift, and hardware dependency. It shaped DJ practice before Serato and Traktor matured.
