Kurzweil K2000

The Kurzweil K2000 is a digital synthesizer and music workstation introduced in 1991, built around the V.A.S.T. digital signal processing architecture. V.A.S.T. allows users to select different signal paths containing different DSP functions for sound creation and shaping. It includes an extensive modulation system where modulation sources can be assigned to parameters and combined. The instrument was available in keyboard and rack-mountable formats and included 16-bit user sampling.

Kurzweil K250

Kurzweil

The Kurzweil K250 was an 88-key, ROM-based sampling keyboard introduced in 1984. It used proprietary 'contoured modelling' compression to store acoustic instrument and oscillator waveform samples. Twelve separate DACs converted the data to analog. CEM 3335 analog envelopes restored dynamics lost in compression. It delivered 12-note polyphony and was the first electronic instrument to faithfully reproduce an acoustic grand piano.
