M-Audio Audiophile 2496

M-Audio

The M-Audio Delta Audiophile 24/96 is a PCI/ISA sound card for Windows-based music production and amateur vocal recording. It connects MIDI controllers and turntables. It supports 24-bit/96 kHz audio when host software allows. Latency drops to 4ms with buffer reductions. It runs silently in Cubase VST, Pro Tools, Fruity Loops, and six other DAWs. Recordings are clean. Softsynths sound great. Wave Table Synthesis is absent — but users found it unnecessary. I/O is limited. Modern OS support is not provided.

M-Audio Delta 1010

M-Audio

The M-Audio Delta 1010 is a discontinued PCI/ISA + rack-mount soundcard. It delivers 8 analogue I/Os plus SPDIF. It achieves 5ms latency. It runs stably with Cubase and Sonar on legacy desktops. It crashes beyond 24 tracks — due to host computer limits, not the card. It inserts real-time effects during mixdown without issue. It requires a Pentium 4–era PC with a free PCI slot. It has no USB or FireWire support. It is no longer manufactured.
