It uses two digitally controlled oscillators with sawtooth, 50% and 10% pulse waveforms plus noise. Sound is shaped by a single filter and amplifier, both with ADSR envelopes. Programming happens via numeric patch selection and front-panel sliders — or optionally with the PG-200 programmer, which disables MIDI input while connected.
What it does better than anything else
It delivers immediate, tactile patch editing via sliders — rare among early MIDI synths — and pairs that with a built-in 128-step polyphonic sequencer synced to external clock pulses.

It does not support MIDI clock synchronization. It cannot use the PG-200 and MIDI at the same time. Its MIDI implementation omits velocity, aftertouch, and continuous controller messages beyond modulation and pitch bend.
